Oxy® Proxy Extension for Chrome
Configure the Oxy® Proxy Extension for Chrome with Oxylabs ISP Proxies. Install, add profiles, and switch easily within the browser.
Oxy® Proxy Extension is a proxy management extension for Chrome. It's free and works with any proxy provider of your choice.
This quick guide shows how to integrate Oxylabs ISP Proxies.
Setup
Download and click the extension icon to open the application.

Click the +Add new proxy button.

A new tab will open up where you can set up your proxy profile.
Fill in the details as follows:
Name
Project name
Protocol
HTTP or HTTPS
Domain
isp.oxylabs.io
Port
8000
Username
user-USERNAME
Password
PASSWORD
Make sure to add the user- part to your username.
Click Save changes.

Open the extension as shown in the first step and click Connect.

That's it. You're now using proxies with automatically rotating IP addresses.
Geo-location settings
When using proxy rotation (port 8000), to rotate IPs from a specific country, use a modified username format. For example, to connect to US-based proxies, enter your username as user-USERNAME-country-US. Check your proxy list to see the available locations.
Static sessions
You can also use the same proxy IP address for multiple requests. Port 8000 always rotates through your proxy list, while connecting through port 8001 uses the IP assigned to this port. To switch IPs, change the port to 8002, 8003, etc. You can find the assigned port numbers in your proxy list.
Let's add a new static proxy that uses port 8001:

After saving the changes, open the extension window and connect to the newly created proxy.

Global bypass list
If you don't want to use proxies when accessing specific websites, you can add them to the bypass list. Open the extension, click Manage proxies, and then open the Global Bypass List.

For example, if you want to skip using proxies for https://ip.oxylabs.io/, you should enter the address like this: https://ip.oxylabs.io or ip.oxylabs.io. Once you visit this site, you should see your regular IP address instead of a proxy IP.
After saving the changes, disconnect and reconnect the proxy to enable the bypass list.
Common errors
Use the troubleshooting steps outlined below to fix common extension errors when using Oxylabs or other providers' proxies.
Proxies not connecting
Try disconnecting and re-connecting your proxies in the extension. If the issue persists, move on to the next step below.
Incorrect proxy credentials
Verify the proxy username and password you've entered are correct and match the credentials assigned by your proxy provider.
For Oxylabs ISP Proxies, ensure you're using the proxy user's username and password you've created in the Oxylabs dashboard. You can always edit these credentials in the dashboard by going to My Products → Datacenter Proxies → Users.
Invalid username without appending user-
Oxylabs ISP Proxies require you to append the user- string to your proxy user's username. For example, if your username is john_TFTdL, then you must enter your username as user-john_TFTdL.
Invalid proxy domain or port
Make sure you're using a valid proxy domain and port number as assigned by your proxy provider.
A valid domain address for Oxylabs ISP Proxies is isp.oxylabs.io and port 8000. See the full list of valid ports in the dashboard. You can check the documentation of ISP Proxies to learn more.
Proxy port out of range
Verify you've entered a proxy port that isn't out of range. For Oxylabs ISP Proxies, visit the dashboard to find your proxy list with assigned port numbers.
Extension not working
If the extension is not working for some reason, try uninstalling and re-installing it through the Chrome web store or browser settings.
Disable third-party VPN
Turn off a third-party Virtual Private Network (VPN) if you're using it. It may conflict with the Oxy® Proxy Extension.
This guide is also available for Datacenter Proxies, Residential Proxies, Mobile Proxies, Enterprise and Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies.
