### HTTP

Our documentation includes code examples showcasing how to connect to the proxies using `HTTP` protocol. The protocol is supported by common libraries and third-party software.

### HTTPS

You can also use the fully encrypted connection using `HTTPS` protocol for an extra layer of security. For that, you have to add `https://` to your proxy entry point. For example: `https://disp.oxylabs.io:8000`

### SOCKS5

Oxylabs Dedicated ISP Proxies support both `TCP` and `UDP` connections.

For using `SOCKS5` protocol, you have to add `socks5h://` to your proxy entry point. For example: `socks5h://disp.oxylabs.io:8000`

curl -x socks5h://user-USERNAME:PASSWORD@disp.oxylabs.io:8000 https://ip.oxylabs.io/location
```

Note that some websites may identify a proxy IP when using the `SOCKS5` protocol. We highly suggest switching to an alternative protocol in such instances.
