You may also use **additional parameters** with residential and mobile proxies to set the geo-location (country, state, city, and etc.) and control sessions. Check out the [Residential Proxies documentation](/products/proxies/residential-proxies.md) to learn more. The table below provides an overview of available parameters and their example values.

<table><thead><tr><th width="167">Proxy parameter</th><th width="465.5">Example</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/UPg2AOzHh8eTwZf0ZfxE#country-specific-entry-nodes">Country entry node</a></td><td><p><strong>Host:</strong> <code>us-pr.oxylabs.io</code></p><p><strong>Port:</strong> <code>10000</code></p></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/UPg2AOzHh8eTwZf0ZfxE">Country</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-cc-US</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/e93RpcKghZnkSC6ATFPI">State</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-st-US_texas</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/SFkPGxvpqV8rBtKfCMo8">City</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-city-paris</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/GZqlA7kjGCjYeRz47eX0">Continent</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-cn-NA</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/ReB4Ej6De1X1uPh5QrRB">ZIP/Postal code</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-cc-US-postalcode-90210</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/ATRXHGvVOBqV6HM3m3j4">ASN Targeting</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-ASN-21928</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/MARGpYxVNKNfIa0J3Khs">Session</a></td><td><strong>User:</strong> <code>customer-username-sessid-qwerty123-sesstime-30</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/spaces/BQ7Zf9paoN3FTeGcyfY1/pages/MARGpYxVNKNfIa0J3Khs#session-time">Session time</a></td><td><p><strong>Host:</strong> <code>us-pr.oxylabs.io</code></p><p><strong>Port:</strong> <code>10001</code></p></td></tr></tbody></table>

#### Datacenter Proxies

<table data-header-hidden data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><code>Project name</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Protocol</strong></td><td><code>HTTP</code> or <code>HTTPS</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domain</strong></td><td><code>dc.oxylabs.io</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Port</strong></td><td><code>8000</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Username</strong></td><td><code>user-USERNAME</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Password</strong></td><td><code>PASSWORD</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure to add the `user-` prefix to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/PDxpCmpDjFydwZxjUSm0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Pay-per-IP subscription**

The port is the sequential number assigned to an IP address from the proxy list. Thus, port `8001` uses the first IP address from your list. You may also enable proxy IP rotation by setting the port to `8000`.

Furthermore, you can specify the geo-location, for example, the US, by setting the Proxy username to `user-USERNAME-country-US`.

**Pay-per-traffic subscription**

Port `8001` picks a random IP address but stays consistent during a session. Alternatively, you can rotate proxy IPs with each request by using port `8000`.

You can also specify geo-location, for example, the US, by setting the Proxy username to `user-USERNAME-country-US`.

#### Dedicated Datacenter Proxies (Enterprise)

<table data-header-hidden data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><code>Project name</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Protocol</strong></td><td><code>HTTP</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domain</strong></td><td><code>1.2.3.4</code> (example)</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Port</strong></td><td><code>60000</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Username</strong></td><td><code>USERNAME</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Password</strong></td><td><code>PASSWORD</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

<figure><img src="/files/OZCYyubNLwT2ct4erF64" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For Enterprise Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, you’ll have to choose an IP address from the acquired list. Additionally, If you're using **whitelisted IP addresses**, you'll need to use port `65432`. Visit our [documentation](/products/proxies/dedicated-datacenter-proxies/enterprise/proxy-lists.md) for more details.

#### Dedicated Datacenter Proxies (Self-service)

<table data-header-hidden data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><code>Project name</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Protocol</strong></td><td><code>HTTP</code> or <code>HTTPS</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domain</strong></td><td><code>ddc.oxylabs.io</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Port</strong></td><td><code>8000</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Username</strong></td><td><code>user-USERNAME</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Password</strong></td><td><code>PASSWORD</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure to add the `user-` prefix to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/ApaCt0XChpc3asSAOJZC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies, the port indicates the sequential number of an IP address from the acquired [proxy list](/products/proxies/dedicated-datacenter-proxies/self-service/proxy-list.md). If you want to get a different IP with each request, change the **Port** to `8000` to enable [proxy rotation](/products/proxies/dedicated-datacenter-proxies/self-service/proxy-rotation.md).

#### ISP Proxies

<table data-header-hidden data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><code>Project name</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Protocol</strong></td><td><code>HTTP</code> or <code>HTTPS</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domain</strong></td><td><code>isp.oxylabs.io</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Port</strong></td><td><code>8000</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Username</strong></td><td><code>user-USERNAME</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Password</strong></td><td><code>PASSWORD</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure to add the `user-` part to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/pdpBvrvHmwRX3ehfNgTX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With ISP Proxies, the port is assigned to a specific IP address and its location. Hence, port `8001` will always pick the first IP from your [proxy list](https://developers.oxylabs.io/proxies/isp-proxies/proxy-list).

If you want to get a different IP with each request, change the Port to `8000` to enable [proxy rotation](https://developers.oxylabs.io/proxies/isp-proxies/proxy-rotation).

#### Dedicated ISP Proxies

<table data-header-hidden data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><code>Project name</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Protocol</strong></td><td><code>HTTP</code>, <code>HTTPS</code>, or <code>SOCKS5</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domain</strong></td><td><code>disp.oxylabs.io</code> </td></tr><tr><td><strong>Port</strong></td><td><code>8001</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Username</strong></td><td><code>user-USERNAME</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Password</strong></td><td><code>PASSWORD</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure to add the `user-` prefix to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/P1V8TwTngSOQvSUuFSnZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The port number indicates which IP address from your acquired [proxy list](/products/proxies/dedicated-isp-proxies/self-service/proxy-list.md) will be used. Use port `8000` for automatic [proxy IP rotation](/products/proxies/dedicated-isp-proxies/self-service/proxy-rotation.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Save changes**.

<figure><img src="/files/CU8H9OZW4rdhGCevvuSm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Open the extension as shown in the first step and click **Connect**.

<figure><img src="/files/FV3sO21wzeGXM9VCC9dh" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

That's it. You're now using internet connection through Oxylabs proxies.

### Whitelist

If you don't want to use proxies when accessing specific websites, you can add them to a whitelist. Open the extension, click **Manage proxies**, and then open the **Global Bypass List**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/K9iy9kkeX4qWAE5dk1QK" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For example, if you want to skip using proxies for `https://ip.oxylabs.io/`, you should enter the address like this: `https://ip.oxylabs.io` or `ip.oxylabs.io`. Once you visit this site, you should see your regular IP address instead of a proxy IP.

{% hint style="warning" %}
After saving the changes, disconnect and reconnect the proxy to enable the whitelist.
{% endhint %}

### Common errors

Use the troubleshooting steps outlined below to fix common extension errors when using Oxylabs or other providers' proxies.

<details>

<summary><strong>Proxies not connecting</strong></summary>

Try **disconnecting** and **re-connecting** your proxies in the extension. If the issue persists, move on to the next step below.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Incorrect proxy credentials</strong></summary>

Verify the proxy **username** and **password** you've entered are correct and match the credentials assigned by your proxy provider.

For Oxylabs Residential Proxies, ensure you're using the **proxy user's** username and password you've created in the Oxylabs [dashboard](https://dashboard.oxylabs.io/). You can always edit these credentials in the dashboard by going to **My Products** → **Datacenter Proxies** → [**Users**](https://dashboard.oxylabs.io/?route=/overview/residential-proxies/users).

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Invalid username without <code>customer-</code> or <code>user-</code> prefix</strong></summary>

Oxylabs **Residential Proxies require you to append** the `customer-` string to your proxy user's username. For example, if your username is `john_TFTdL`, then you must enter your username as `customer-john_TFTdL`.

Oxylabs **ISP, Dedicated ISP, Datacenter, and Self-Service Dedicated Datacenter Proxies** **require you to append** the `user-` string to your proxy user's username. For example, if your username is `john_TFTdL`, then you must enter your username as `user-john_TFTdL`.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Invalid proxy domain or port</strong></summary>

Make sure you're using a valid proxy domain and port number **as assigned by your proxy provider**.

Valid domains addressed for Oxylabs Proxies for each available proxy type can be found here:

* [Residential & Mobile Proxies](#residential-and-mobile-proxies)
* [Datacenter Proxies](#datacenter-proxies)
* [Dedicated Datacenter Proxies (Enterprise)](#dedicated-datacenter-proxies-enterprise)
* [Dedicated Datacenter Proxies (Self-service)](#dedicated-datacenter-proxies-self-service)
* [ISP Proxies](#isp-proxies)
* [Dedicated ISP Proxies](#dedicated-isp-proxies)

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Extension not working</strong></summary>

If the extension is not working for some reason, try **uninstalling** and **re-installing** it through the [Chrome web store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/oxylabs-proxy-extension/infajoaodhhdogakhloedbppcbeajhoo) or browser settings.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Disable third-party VPN</strong></summary>

Turn off a third-party Virtual Private Network (VPN) if you're using it. It may conflict with the Oxy® Proxy Extension.

</details>

You can also check out our free [**Oxy**® **Proxy Manager app**](https://oxylabs.io/products/proxy-manager-app) for Android. It allows you to easily add and manage proxies as well as switch between multiple IPs with a simple one-click connection.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://developers.oxylabs.io/integrations/proxy-integrations/oxy-proxy-extension-for-chrome.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
