# Oxy® Proxy Extension for Chrome

[**Oxy**® **Proxy Extension**](https://oxylabs.io/products/chrome-proxy-extension) is a proxy management extension for Chrome. It's free and works with any proxy provider of your choice.

This quick guide shows how to integrate Oxylabs [**Mobile Proxies**](https://oxylabs.io/products/mobile-proxies).

### Setup

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
[**Download**](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/oxylabs-proxy-extension/infajoaodhhdogakhloedbppcbeajhoo) and click the extension icon to open the application.

<figure><img src="/files/5sSxpqw17DWXHA0y9SRy" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click the **+Add new proxy** button.

<figure><img src="/files/8P5YfXnOMHSUloTADBGt" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
A new tab will open up where you can **set up your proxy profile**.

Fill in the details as follows:

<table data-header-hidden data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><code>Project name</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Protocol</strong></td><td><code>HTTP</code> or <code>HTTPS</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Domain</strong></td><td><code>pr.oxylabs.io</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Port</strong></td><td><code>7777</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Username</strong></td><td><code>customer-USERNAME</code></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Password</strong></td><td><code>PASSWORD</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure to add the `customer-` part to your username.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Save changes**.

<figure><img src="/files/i8MMkzopbcehuIG2rWEC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Open the extension as shown in the first step and click **Connect**.

<figure><img src="/files/lV6Cj4Aitvsct9JOX7D5" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

That's it. You're now using proxies with automatically rotating IP addresses.

### Geo-location settings

Mobile Proxies give you fine control over geo-location (country, state, city, etc.) when you modify the host, port, or username with additional parameters. Check out the examples below:

<table><thead><tr><th width="155.90625">Proxy Parameter</th><th>Example</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><a href="https://developers.oxylabs.io/proxies/mobile-proxies/location-settings/country#country-specific-entry-nodes">Country entry node</a></td><td><p><strong>Host:</strong> <code>us-pr.oxylabs.io</code></p><p><strong>Port:</strong> <code>10000</code></p></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/pages/w66EaMHnyuIjuwX81kUd">Country</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cc-DE</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/pages/CNfvZ7PQRvIcDg9dZeA9">City</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cc-US-city-los_angeles</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/pages/9cG2UzInE9t3vW5oHSNZ">State</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-st-us_california</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/pages/ETlkJar1FPLeb0aKQkx8">Continent</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cn-NA</code></td></tr><tr><td><a href="/pages/vEiKRfeINoZYUltzHnMQ">ASN Targeting</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-ASN-21928</code></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Static sessions

[Sticky country-specific entries](broken://pages/wc7vlaxiJwl12yzI07HG) allow you use the same IP address for up to 10 minutes. For example, if you enter `us-pr.oxylabs.io` as the **Domain** and `10001` as the **Port**, you’ll receive the US exit node with a sticky session.

Additionally, you can [control your sessions](broken://pages/PlTDbVDNyQW20P4PLbvj) by assigning a random alphanumeric string to the `sessid-` parameter. This parameter must be **appended to your username**, for example, `customer-USERNAME-sessid-123`:

<figure><img src="/files/Ae4WSdq0N501znac9G6m" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
With this approach, you can use the same IP address for **up to 1440 minutes** (24 hours) by adding the `sesstime` parameter, for example: `customer-USERNAME-sessid-123-sesstime-1440`.
{% endhint %}

After saving the changes, open the extension window and connect to the newly created proxy.

### Global bypass list

If you don't want to use proxies when accessing specific websites, you can add them to the bypass list. Open the extension, click **Manage proxies**, and then open the **Global Bypass List**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/K9iy9kkeX4qWAE5dk1QK" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For example, if you want to skip using proxies for `https://ip.oxylabs.io/`, you should enter the address like this: `https://ip.oxylabs.io` or `ip.oxylabs.io`. Once you visit this site, you should see your regular IP address instead of a proxy IP.

{% hint style="warning" %}
After saving the changes, disconnect and reconnect the proxy to enable the bypass list.
{% endhint %}

### Common errors

Use the troubleshooting steps outlined below to fix common extension errors when using Oxylabs or other providers' proxies.

<details>

<summary>Proxies not connecting</summary>

Try **disconnecting** and **re-connecting** your proxies in the extension. If the issue persists, move on to the next step below.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Incorrect proxy credentials</summary>

Verify the proxy **username** and **password** you've entered are correct and match the credentials assigned by your proxy provider.

For Oxylabs Mobile Proxies, ensure you're using the **proxy user's** username and password you've created in the Oxylabs [dashboard](https://dashboard.oxylabs.io/). You can always edit these credentials in the dashboard by going to **My Products** → **Datacenter Proxies** → [**Users**](https://dashboard.oxylabs.io/?route=/overview/mobile-proxies/users).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Invalid username without appending <code>customer-</code></summary>

Oxylabs Mobile Proxies **require you to append** the `customer-` string to your proxy user's username. For example, if your username is `john_TFTdL`, then you must enter your username as `customer-john_TFTdL`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Invalid proxy domain or port</summary>

Make sure you're using a valid proxy domain and port number **as assigned by your proxy provider**.

A valid domain address for Oxylabs Mobile Proxies is `pr.oxylabs.io` and port `7777`. Check the valid ports in our documentation by visiting the[ country-specific entry points](https://developers.oxylabs.io/proxies/mobile-proxies/location-settings/country#table-of-entry-points) and [sticky entry points](broken://pages/wc7vlaxiJwl12yzI07HG) pages.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Proxy port out of range</summary>

Verify you've entered a **proxy port that isn't out of range**. For Oxylabs Mobile Proxies, refer to these lists of [country-specific entry points](https://developers.oxylabs.io/proxies/mobile-proxies/location-settings/country#table-of-entry-points) and [sticky entry points](broken://pages/wc7vlaxiJwl12yzI07HG).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Extension not working</summary>

If the extension is not working for some reason, try **uninstalling** and **re-installing** it through the [Chrome web store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/oxylabs-proxy-extension/infajoaodhhdogakhloedbppcbeajhoo) or browser settings.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Disable third-party VPN</summary>

Turn off a third-party Virtual Private Network (VPN) if you're using it. It may conflict with the Oxy® Proxy Extension.
