# Afina

Set up Oxylabs proxies in Afina Browser with geo-targeting, session control, and built-in connection testing for reliable browsing sessions.

[**Afina**](https://afina.io/en) is a desktop multi-profile browser for Windows (x64) and macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon).&#x20;

Follow the step-by-step guide on how to configure the following Oxylabs proxies with Afina:

* [**Residential & Mobile Proxies**](#residential-and-mobile-proxies)
* [**Datacenter Proxies**](#datacenter-proxies)
* [**ISP Proxies**](#isp-proxies)
* [**Dedicated ISP Proxies**](#dedicated-isp-proxies)

## Add proxy details <a href="#id-2.-add-proxies" id="id-2.-add-proxies"></a>

In the proxy settings, fill it out as shown in the examples below for Oxylabs proxies.

### Residential & Mobile Proxies

**Proxy type**: `HTTP`, `HTTPS`, or `SOCKS5`

**Host**: `pr.oxylabs.io`

**Port**: `7777`

**Proxy username:** `customer-USERNAME`

**Proxy password:** `PASSWORD`

{% hint style="success" %}
Append the `customer-` text to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1275685708-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FU4lV7kLC2Df45W0aLQlX%2Fuploads%2Fykk6pv6xaBSVmRkH0uqx%2FScreenshot%202026-10-08%20at%2022.33.28%20copy.png?alt=media&amp;token=f080968d-72d6-490d-a8af-f5bcfae57cc9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You may also use **additional parameters** with residential and mobile proxies to set the geo-location (country, state, city, and etc.) and control sessions. Check out the [Residential Proxies documentation](/products/proxies/residential-proxies.md) to learn more. The table below provides an overview of available parameters and their example values.

<table><thead><tr><th width="155.90625">Proxy Parameter</th><th width="395.76953125">Example</th><th>Protocols</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#country-specific-entry-nodes">Country entry node</a></td><td><p><strong>Host:</strong> <code>us-pr.oxylabs.io</code></p><p><strong>Port:</strong> <code>10000</code></p></td><td>HTTPS</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#country">Country</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cc-DE</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#city">City</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cc-US-city-los_angeles</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#state">State</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-st-us_california</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#continent">Continent</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cn-NA</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#zip-postal-code">ZIP/Postal code</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-cc-US-postalcode-90012</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/location-settings.md#asn-targeting">ASN Targeting</a></td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-ASN-21928</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/session-control.md">Session</a> (up to 10 minutes)</td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-sessid-abcde12345</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/session-control.md#session-time">Session time</a> (up to 1440 minutes)</td><td><strong>Username:</strong> <code>customer-USERNAME-sessid-abcde12345-sesstime-1440</code></td><td>HTTPS, SOCKS5</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/products/proxies/residential-proxies/session-control.md#sticky-proxy-entry-nodes">Sticky proxy entry node</a></td><td><p><strong>Host:</strong> <code>us-pr.oxylabs.io</code></p><p><strong>Port:</strong> <code>10001</code></p></td><td>HTTPS</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Datacenter Proxies

**Proxy type**: `HTTP`, `HTTPS`, or `SOCKS5`

**Host**: `dc.oxylabs.io`

**Port**: `8001`

**Proxy username:** `user-USERNAME`

**Proxy password:** `PASSWORD`

{% hint style="success" %}
Append the `user-` part to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1275685708-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FU4lV7kLC2Df45W0aLQlX%2Fuploads%2FyHVZ8sgYvsD7HXtBUDme%2FScreenshot%202026-10-08%20at%2021.34.25.png?alt=media&amp;token=32e5c238-e198-4ca6-99bb-0a1663feae86" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Pay-per-IP subscription" %}
The port is the sequential number assigned to an IP address from the [proxy list](/products/proxies/datacenter-proxies/proxy-list.md). Thus, port `8001` uses the first IP address from your list. You may also enable [proxy IP rotation](/products/proxies/datacenter-proxies/ip-control.md) by setting the port to `8000`.

Furthermore, you can specify the [geo-location](/products/proxies/datacenter-proxies/select-country.md), for example, the US, by setting the **Proxy username** to `user-USERNAME-country-US`.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Pay-per-traffic subscription" %}
The port `8001` picks a random IP address but stays consistent during a session. Alternatively, you can [rotate proxy IPs](/products/proxies/datacenter-proxies/ip-control.md) with each request by using port `8000`.

If you want to use a specific [geo-location](/products/proxies/datacenter-proxies/select-country.md), for example, the US, set the **Proxy username** to `user-USERNAME-country-US`.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

### ISP Proxies

**Proxy type**: `HTTP`, `HTTPS`, or `SOCKS5`

**Host**: `isp.oxylabs.io`

**Port**: `8001`

**Proxy username:** `user-USERNAME`

**Proxy password:** `PASSWORD`

{% hint style="success" %}
Append the `user-` part to your username.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1275685708-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FU4lV7kLC2Df45W0aLQlX%2Fuploads%2FAt6BuiF4dBM0rfMr3ENV%2FScreenshot%202026-10-08%20at%2021.35.21.png?alt=media&amp;token=26e3d467-288e-4ddd-b934-2a78fc13f400" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With ISP Proxies, the port is assigned to a specific IP address and its location. Hence, port `8001` will always pick the first IP from your [proxy list](/products/proxies/isp-proxies/proxy-list.md). You can enable [proxy rotation](/products/proxies/isp-proxies/proxy-rotation.md) by using port `8000`.

Setting the **Proxy username** to, for example, `user-USERNAME-country-US`, will ensure you get rotating IPs from the United States proxy pool.

### Dedicated ISP Proxies

**Proxy type**: `HTTP`, `HTTPS`, or `SOCKS5`

**Host**: `disp.oxylabs.io`

**Port**: `8001`

**Proxy username:** `user-USERNAME`

**Proxy password:** `PASSWORD`

{% hint style="success" %}
The port number indicates which IP address from your acquired [proxy list](/products/proxies/dedicated-isp-proxies/self-service/proxy-list.md) will be used. Use port `8000` for automatic [proxy IP rotation](/products/proxies/dedicated-isp-proxies/self-service/proxy-rotation.md).
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://1275685708-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FU4lV7kLC2Df45W0aLQlX%2Fuploads%2F9t4GjqxDqkr9JreA9tJW%2FScreenshot%202026-10-08%20at%2021.35.37.png?alt=media&amp;token=69db2c6e-2590-4e59-9fe3-07ce86a2bdcf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure to add the `user-` part to your username.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Check your proxy connection <a href="#id-3.-check-proxy-connection" id="id-3.-check-proxy-connection"></a>

You can check if the proxy works correctly by clicking on the **Wi-Fi** icon. You should see it turn green like this:

<figure><img src="https://1275685708-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FU4lV7kLC2Df45W0aLQlX%2Fuploads%2FHtRtZygxcibMb6cRP7Xy%2FScreenshot%202026-10-08%20at%2022.33.28.png?alt=media&amp;token=a1f56e6e-3641-41dd-9733-1a35b99a72c1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Launch the browser

Once you’re done configuring the settings, this new profile with proxies should be available in the **Accounts** tab. Launch the browser by simply clicking **New**.

<figure><img src="https://1275685708-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FU4lV7kLC2Df45W0aLQlX%2Fuploads%2Fdh8cGFDJwnpw92xxhJG1%2FScreenshot%202026-10-08%20at%2022.59.33.png?alt=media&amp;token=8064f555-93c4-4f38-a45f-7dd53ef52d6f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

You can now start browsing with Oxylabs proxies integrated with the Afina browser.&#x20;

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://developers.oxylabs.io/integrations/proxy-integrations/afina.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
