# Inviting new team members

Learn how to invite members to your team, what the onboarding process looks like, and what restrictions apply to team members using the dashboard.

To invite a new team member:

1. Go to the [dashboard](https://dashboard.oxylabs.io/en/): **Settings → Team**.
2. Click **+ Invite team member**.
3. Enter the teammate's email address and send the invitation.

The invitee receives an email invitation. If they already have an account, they also receive a notification in the dashboard. After they accept the invitation, their status changes to **Active**.

You can resend pending invitations or remove team members at any time.

### **Team member onboarding**

Once you send an invitation, the team member needs to accept it and complete the onboarding process before they can access the team dashboard.

1. The invitee receives an email invitation.
2. They click the **Accept invitation** to open the dashboard. If they don't already have an account, they need to register first.
3. After accepting the invitation, they can access all dashboard features except **subscription management** and **team invitations**.
4. They can view their membership details or leave the team at any time under **Settings → Team**.

### **Team member restrictions**

Team membership comes with a few restrictions that determine who can manage the team, how many members can join, and how existing plans and subscriptions are handled.

Only the **team owner** can invite new members. A team can have up to 50 active members.

If a user on a **free plan with a welcome credit** joins a team, their free plan is removed and they gain access to the team’s dashboard and products instead.

If a user has an active subscription, they must cancel it under **Billing & Spending** before joining a team.

A user can belong to only one team at a time. To create a new team, they must first leave their current team.<br>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://developers.oxylabs.io/help-center/dashboard/inviting-new-team-members.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
